On February 12th and 13th, the European Metrology Network for Climate and Ocean Observation (EMN) is hosting a set of four webinars as a follow up to their recent survey to identify metrological needs in climate and ocean observation. The interactive webinar sessions will focus on quality assurance, uncertainty analysis and traceability in the observation and use of Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) and Essential Ocean Variables (EOVs). A further objective of the webinars is to explore the potential for collaborative research and service development between Europe’s National Metrology Institutes and observation experts.

This webinar session is a follow on to the surveys available at www.euramet.org/coo-survey-2019, the results of which will be summarised in a report sent to all those registered for the webinars a week before the session.

The four webinars are:

  • Atmospheric Observations from in-situ and on-site sensors and networks (non-satellite) – 12th Feb.
  • Ocean Observations from in situ and on site sensors and networks (non-satellite) – 12th Feb.
  • Using ECV and EOV records for scientific, societal and commercial applications – 13th Feb.
  • Satellite observations of ECVs – 13th Feb.
