This online training course on Intellectual Property (IP) took place on September 3rd, 2018. It was provided by Christina Gates, an IP consultant from the TOMKINS company in collaboration with the Marine Institute, and organized in the framework of the EMSO-link project (WP5 “Business Plan and Technology transfer” and WP8 “Capacity Building”).
The course program covered the six main following areas:
1. General Introduction to Intellectual Property.
2. Requirements for patentability.
3. Identifying an invention.
4. Reading patent documents.
5. The patent procedure.
6. Common pitfalls.
The training gathered EMSO personnel, mostly EMSO ERIC Regional Team Leaders and Service Group members.
