SUMMARY:Course on Intellectual Property
DESCRIPTION:This online training course on Intellectual Property (IP) took place on September 3rd\, 2018. It was provided by Christina Gates\, an IP consultant from the TOMKINS company in collaboration with the Marine Institute\, and organized in the framework of the EMSO-link project (WP5 “Business Plan and Technology transfer” and WP8 “Capacity Building”). \nThe course program covered the six main following areas:\n1.      General Introduction to Intellectual Property.\n2.      Requirements for patentability.\n3.      Identifying an invention.\n4.      Reading patent documents.\n5.      The patent procedure.\n6.      Common pitfalls. \nThe training gathered EMSO personnel\, mostly EMSO ERIC Regional Team Leaders and Service Group members. \nThe presentation material used as a support during the session is accessible below: \nPresentation slides\, example of a patent application. \nFor more information\, please contact Kieran Reilly (kieran.reilly@marine.ie)
