The SAVEMEDCOAST-2 project launched a questionnaire to understand how familiar people are with Sea Level Rise, its causes and effects, and how far they are aware about the impacts on land and cities.

The rise of sea level is not as spectacular as a volcanic eruption or as shocking as earthquakes, and yet, it is an emergency demanding attention not just by people living in coastal areas. It is indeed an issue on the global agenda that needs to be properly addressed.

Through the European project SAVEMEDCOAST-2, funded by the European Civil Protection (DG-ECHO) and led by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), scientists aim to study the effects of the expected sea level rise in the Mediterranean and design educational and informative tools that could raise people’s awareness.
