EMSO partner Marine Institute has announced the seven projects that were awarded funding under the Marine Institute’s SmartBay National Infrastructure Access Programme (NIAP) following the 2018/2019 funding call.
The awardees will receive financial support and will have access to the EMSO ERIC SmartBay test site and subsea observatory, allowing them to deploy equipment, and use the data feeds which are collected on site to carry out their scientific research.
This years’ awardees are very diverse, covering aspects of ocean observation concerning wireless communication, video analysis, ocean energy, environmental protection and more. They enrich a list of more than 50 projects which have been funded by the NIAP in the last seven years
