The third training school and conference on “Environmental Time Series Analysis” will be held in Tromsø, Norway, from 28th to 31st January 2019.

The event is conceived to gather scientists from a large range of disciplines in Earth Sciences working on in-situ measurements, and provide a discussion forum in the field of time series analysis and forecasting. In doing so, the planned activities foster the transfer of knowledge to younger or less experienced scientists (post-doctoral, doctoral and master students) and between researchers from several research fields.

There will be a training school for students during the first two and a half days, followed by the conference. The main themes of the event are:
– Atmospheric compositional change
– Ocean and marine environment, including connections with land and atmosphere
– Mathematical tools to understand climate change
A particular focus of the training school is requirements to measurements and time series analysis to be used in assessment reports as the upcoming IPCC.

The registration is now open for both the training school and conference. The deadline to register and to submit an abstract is 31st December. There are no registration fees for PhD students and post docs attending the training school.

Further information and a detailed programme of the event can be found here.

The “Environmental Time Series Analysis” conference is part of a series of events gathering a wide community, and builds upon environmental research infrastructures such as ACTRIS, ICOS, ESONET, EuroSITES, EMSO, FixO3 and ENVRIPLUS partners, extending world wide.
