The iMagine project is pleased to announce a dedicated AI session at the upcoming MARTECH 2025 Workshop. Taking place on 27 May in the afternoon, this session will provide a comprehensive introduction to the iMagine AI Platform and feature a live demonstration of AI-powered fish detection and classification from the EMSO-OBSEA use case.

About the iMagine AI Platform

The iMagine AI framework provides a portfolio of services tailored for AI model development, training, and deployment in the field of aquatic sciences. Powered by the AI4OS software stack from the AI4EOSC consortium, the platform is designed to support scalable AI applications, ensuring FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles for scientific data.

EMSO-OBSEA Use Case: AI-Powered Fish Detection

The OBSEA underwater observatory, operational since 2009, has collected an extensive image archive from multiple camera deployments. Traditionally, fish community analysis has been a manual and time-consuming process. iMagine’s AI solution integrates YOLOv8-based deep learning models to automate fish detection and classification, significantly accelerating ecological data extraction and analysis.
