Last week, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) had the privilege to take part in an Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Exchange between INGV and Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey. For five days, Gözde Özel from the Office of International Programme of Koç University, joined several INGV’s offices and Research Infrastructures, in Rome, thanks to an agenda thoughtfully designed by Giovanna Forlenza and the Turkish counterpart.
The insights exchanged were on:
- INGV organisation and facilities
- Training at European Plate Observing System (EPOS ERIC)
- Training on European Multidisciplinary Seafloor and water-column Observatory (EMSO ERIC) activities
- Training about the international and education activities of the INGV Tsunami Warning Centre
- Training about the training activities performed under the ARISTOTLE-ENHSP Consortium
The mobility’s core objective was to share knowledge and best practices in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). It was a very intense week driven by the energy, passion, and commitment of all counterparts.
A worthwhile opportunity to shape an international career, and remind us that behind every agreement, human stories can build trust and bring fresh perspectives on our job.
