An additional €1 million dedicated to Transition Agendas for sustainable marine and coastal governance.

TASC-RestoreMed, a flagship initiative under the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, announces the launch of its first Open Call for Community-Led Actions and Transition Agendas. The mechanism aims to accelerate innovative solutions that restore marine and coastal ecosystems, reduce pollution, and drive the blue transition across the Mediterranean basin.

Who Can Apply?

The Open Call is designed for a wide range of actors working in environmental restoration or blue economy innovation, including:

Local and regional authorities, NGOs and civil society organisations, Research institutes and universities, Enterprises and SMEs, Multi-stakeholder consortia.

Projects must be implemented within the Mediterranean basin, with at least one partner from a Mediterranean country.

Eligible activities may include coastal habitat restoration, plastic or chemical pollution mitigation, nature-based solutions, water quality monitoring systems, blue circular economy pilots, or community-driven environmental improvements.

Community-Led Actions: Funding of €200,000 to €1.4 million per project

A total of €7 million will be allocated to Community-Led Actions.
Projects may run for up to 24 months, and a minimum of five initiatives will be funded.

Beyond financial support, selected projects will benefit from:

  • Tailored technical assistance
  • Mentoring and capacity building
  • Business planning and scaling support
  • Impact assessment guidance
  • Networking with Mediterranean actors and other Mission Ocean initiatives

The objective is to help effective solutions grow, replicate, and deliver measurable environmental and social impact at the local and regional level.

Transition Agendas: Strategic Planning for Sustainable Blue Policies

In parallel, applicants may also join the Transition Agenda Call, supporting strategic planning and governance models that pave the way for long-term, region-specific transformation.

  • Funding of up to €100,000 per project is available for initiatives that:
  • Develop local or regional Blue Transition roadmaps
  • Test new governance models
  • Facilitate cross-sector collaboration
  • Align community-led actions with long-term policy frameworks

This call supports projects running up to 12 months.

Submission Timeline

  • The first Open Call opens on 27 November 2025 and will remain open until 27 May 2026 17.00 CET.
  • Applicants will have access to a full support system, including: Webinars, Help Desk, Virtual Town Hall meetings, Application guidelines and templates
    FAQs. 

These tools aim to ensure inclusiveness, clarity, and high-quality proposals across all Mediterranean countries.

In addition to the current opportunities, TASC-RestoreMed will launch a second dedicated Open Call for Transition Agendas, expected in Year 2 of the programme, providing another €1 million in funding. More details will be announced in due time through TASC-RestoreMed communication channels.
