Environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, water scarcity, and ocean degradation demand new ways of observing, monitoring, and understanding the Earth system.

The ENVRINNOV and GEORGE Horizon Europe projects are co-organising a dedicated session on this topic, at EGU 2026, in Vienna, Austria on 3-8 May 2026, and invite researchers, technologists, and other relevant stakeholders to showcase advances in emerging technologies and service-oriented approaches that are shaping the future of environmental monitoring.

From AI-driven data processing and autonomous sensing systems to interoperable, FAIR, and cloud-based services, this session aims to explore how innovation across the ENVRI community can enhance monitoring, strengthen interoperability, and accelerate the translation of knowledge into actionable insights.
